The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Ungerberg, from a pebbly soil, smells of bitter-sweet cassis and vanilla. It comes onto the palate with cooked black currant, dark tobacco, mulberry, cedar, and toasted nuts – quite rich, incipiently creamy, and with dense but fine tannins.
