Peppery and gingery upfront, delivering the spice that Gewurz is noted for, but in a slightly tame, restrained format backed by pineapple and pear flavors and a soft, off-dry finish. No doubt this is an interesting rendition of NZ Gewurztraminer, but perhaps an earlier release or quicker consumption would serve this wine better?——J.C.(9/1/2009)—— 87
