The dark ruby-colored 2006 Grenache The Fave was sourced from 70-year-old vines and aged for 18 months in seasoned French and American oak. It reveals aromas of scorched earth, spice box, mineral, and black cherry. Easygoing and seamless on the palate, it offers a forward personality, ripe flavors, silky tannins, and excellent length. Drink it over the next eight years. The Kaesler family, of Silesian origin, emigrated to the Barossa in the 1840s. The winemaking is in the hands of Reid Bosward and Stephen Dew.Importer: Ben Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
