A blend of 74.3% Shiraz and 25.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 Andre comes from top vineyard elevations and small crops from both the Yarra Valley and Heathcote. Aged for 24 months in new Allier and Troncais French barrels, it offers a deep garnet color and moderately pronounced notes of creme de cassis, blueberry preserves, eucalypt, Ceylon tea leaves, cassia and dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied with a great concentration of mouth-filling, complex flavors, it's supported by high acid and firm, fine-grained tannins. The finish is long with lingering dark berry, mint and cedar notes. Drink it now through 2022+.
