Tasted blind, the 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is quite closed, unfurling with extended aeration to reveal a pretty bouquet of wild berries, dark cherries and potpourri, complemented by some deep bass notes of espresso roast and toasty new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, succulent and richly structured, with a deep and unusually tight-knit core, fine but abundant tannins and a long finish. While wines from this site are often charming out of the blocks, this is an Amoureuses that will demand and reward cellaring.
