Earthy and gamy are the first impressions, with ripe blackberry looming behind it. Structure is solid and the texture has polish. Needs time to come together. Best after 2008. 120,000 cases made. -HS

This is made in a very approachable style, with chocolate and spice flavors ahead of light red fruits. In the blend are Syrah, Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc, which makes this more of a proprietary red than a true Cabernet Sauvignon.
