International in style, with plenty of new oak flavors--from violet to spicy, toasted mocha. Beneath the wood blanket is a soft pillow of blackberry, cassis and black cherry. Makes a seductive package if you like wines so obviously oaky. The terroir seems to get lost in translation, though. Full-bodied, it needs time. Best from 2005 through 2010. -PM
