The stunning 2000 Pinot Grigio Dessimis was barrel-fermented and aged for 12-14 months in mostly new oak. Surprisingly, it comes across as a Pinot Grigio fruit bomb, with the wood only providing a background nuance. Notes of ripe pears, Mandarin oranges, and Granny Smith apples combine in a richly fruity, ripe, medium-bodied wine of undeniable persistence and pleasure. Enjoy it over the next 12 months.
